Support for Charities

Strengthening communities through support, connection and collaboration.

We support charities, voluntary and community organisations across West Berkshire to develop their capacity, strengthen their voice and influence, build effective partnerships and create opportunities for people to get involved.

Our work focuses on four key areas ...

Capacity Building

Share Your News, Opportunities and Updates

Our weekly VCSE bulletin is one of the primary ways we keep charities, community groups, volunteers and partners informed about what’s happening across West Berkshire.

Whether you’re promoting a funding opportunity, consultation, event, training session, partnership initiative, fundraising activity or important update, we’d love to help share it with the sector.

We welcome submissions from across the local system, including VCSE organisations, community groups, statutory partners, public sector organisations, funders, businesses, networks and other stakeholders. By bringing together information from a wide range of sources, we help ensure the sector remains informed, connected and able to engage with opportunities that affect local communities.

The bulletin reaches organisations and individuals across a broad range of causes and communities, helping to connect people with opportunities, celebrate success and support collaboration across the sector.

To maximise reach and engagement, we ask that information is submitted as early as possible. This gives organisations adequate time to consider opportunities, plan their involvement and respond where appropriate. Timely information sharing helps create a better-informed, better-connected and more engaged sector.

What can be submitted?

  • Funding opportunities
  • Consultations and engagement activities
  • Events, training and workshops
  • Charity job vacancies
  • Partnership and collaboration opportunities
  • Fundraising events and open days
  • Research, reports and sector insights
  • Good news stories, local achievements and success stories
  • Sector news and updates

Why share information through the bulletin?

Our bulletin helps organisations to:

  • Reach a broad VCSE audience across West Berkshire
  • Increase awareness of opportunities and activities
  • Encourage participation and engagement
  • Promote partnership working and collaboration
  • Celebrate achievements and positive impact within our communities

When should I submit information?

Our bulletin is published weekly. While we will always do our best to accommodate late submissions, we strongly encourage partners to share information at the earliest opportunity, particularly where there are deadlines, consultations, funding opportunities, events or limited places available.

The more notice we can give the sector, the greater the opportunity for meaningful engagement and participation.
