Why does the centre need donations?
In order to provide its services to the community, the Centre receives welcome financial assistance and help in kind from its sponsors. However, we always need additional funds which have to be raised from various fundraising activities as well as from private donations and gifts.
If you can manage a contribution, however small, towards our activities, you can be sure that it will be used in a cost-effective way towards providing valued services for local people.

Our first Charity Skydive
A huge well done to everyone involved in our recent sponsored skydive for Volunteer Centre West Berkshire!
Fifteen brave participants signed up to take part, with the first jumps scheduled for 13 May at Hinton Airfield. Unfortunately, poor weather meant only seven people were able to jump on the day but the remaining eight didn’t give up and rebooked for 16 June.
We’re delighted to report that another seven successfully completed their jump on the rescheduled date, with just one person still to go!
So far, the team has raised just under £5,000—an incredible achievement. With a final push, we’re hoping to exceed this milestone.
The team included:
· 11 colleagues from Jones Robinson
· Gill Day (office volunteer)
· Rachel Peters (CEO)
· Chris Lavisher (Rachel’s brother) and his colleague Lee Wilson from Lavisher Building and Roofing
Rachel said:
“I wanted to lead by example—and I’m so glad I wasn’t alone! It was an incredible experience, and surprisingly calm once the parachute opened.”
The funds raised will support VCWB’s essential work, including community transport and support for local voluntary organisations. Thank you to local businesses: CSS, Sharps Autos, and GazKaz for sponsoring our dive t-shirts and Bob Day who took all our official photographs.
Please support if you can—every donation helps us reach (and exceed!) our £5,000 target. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/rachel-peters-1?utm_medium=CR&utm_source=CL
