Why are we here?

Volunteer Centre West Berkshire provides information, advice and guidance about voluntary opportunities in Newbury and across West Berkshire. In addition to our role as a volunteer recruitment agency for local organisations who need volunteer help, we also undertake direct services for the elderly and infirm.

The Volunteer Car and Driver Scheme takes people who are unable to use public transport to appointments of all kinds, for which a voluntary donation is sought based on mileage.

The Newbury Handybus Scheme operates a small fleet of specially adapted vehicles that takes groups of people on regular shopping trips and other excursions.

Newbury Shopmobility provides manual and electric wheelchairs and scooters to enable people with permanent or temporary mobility problems to go about their business in Newbury with complete independence.
